What to expect: The resort attracts families seeking casual holidays featuring water-attraction fun, who wish to be north of heavier downtown traffic while remaining within easy driving distance of downtown attractions. Guests age 20 and younger are not permitted unless accompanied by an adult.

Amenity highlights: A 200-foot lazy river sheltered by a solarium in winter provides year-round fun. Sharing the same outdoor deck is an unheated 50-foot-long free-form pool and a 16-person spa tub.

Insider tip: The resort offers golfers playing privileges to the celebrated and private Dunes Golf Course seven miles away.

My wife and I brought the kids down for their spring break. It was our first time staying at the Caribbean and we loved it! The three bedroom condo that we stayed in was beautiful. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in referring us to a local pizza place called Ultimate California Pizza. It was great! We had so much fun that we already made a reservation to come back this summer!

During summer, complimentary, supervised children's indoor and outdoor activities are offered, with surcharges for certain arts and crafts and a weekly pizza night. Coin-operated laundry machines are located in the resort's newly renovated Cayman tower. A fitness center contains cardio machines and a Universal gym.

The resort offers a 454 units which include condos, guestrooms and suites. Most are located in a newly renovated Cayman tower and a fifteen-story Dominican building with elevators.  Condos and suites feature ocean-view balconies.

All condos and suites include light-colored wood furniture and tropically colored fabrics. Complimentary toiletries are available at the front desk.

 
Sea Captain's House - Freestanding restaurant occupying former beach cottage dating from the early 1930s. Wood-paneled dining room and open-air terrace. Buffet and à la carte breakfast. Lunch/dinner menu with choices such as crab soup, sea island shrimp, oyster plate, jambalaya, Lowcountry crab casserole, grilled beef tenderloin, burgers, salads, and sandwiches.

Island Grill - Open May-August for lunch and dinner of burgers, hot dogs, snack food, soft drinks.

Pool Bar - Sandwiches, burgers, tropical drinks during warm-weather season
